Men of Maritime boycott razors in support of good cause

A number of men at NSW Maritime ceremoniously put down their razors in the name of Movember - the month formerly and formally known as November – to raise money for two very important male health issues, prostate cancer research and male depression.

The 20 self proclaimed "NSW Maritime Mo Bros" raised more than $1,800 during the event.

Following the 2006 event, cheques for $2.5 million were presented to both the ‘Prostate Cancer Council of Australia’ and ‘Beyond Blue’ - the national depression initiative.

Figures on the funds raised on Movember 2007 are not yet available but based on a significant increase in the number of registered Mo Bros in 2007 - the money raised is expected to increase significantly.

On Wednesday 29 November 2007, many of the Sydney Mo Bros and supporters - including many from NSW Maritime - dressed to suit their mos and gathered at the big top at Luna Park to vie for the Best Mo in Class honours and the ultimate Man of Movember presentations.
